US Open Womens
With such a lot of matches to get through in the daily match bets, we’ll try to be as straight to the point as we can in the women’s, so please excuse the approach of focussing on the bets directly, rather than detailing the wider picture in each section of the group. You’ll just have to take it on trust that we’ve assessed all the others we haven’t talking about.

Our strongest bet in the tournament comes from the bottom part of the draw, where Simona Halep warrants our support to reach the semi-finals and beyond. She opens against Maria Sharapova, which is of course unfortunate – given her 0-6 head to head record – but it could also be a great way to kick start her tournament.
Sharapova has struggled with injury throughout the summer, and could barely have prepared worse for this event. She has so far looked a shadow of her former-self, and Halep – a semi-finalist in each of the last two Masters events, is the form player on the WTA right now. She should relish this opportunity. The quarter also contains the dangerous Johana Konta, but odds of 7/2 to win the quarter are more than attractive on Halep, and we’ll also chuck a point e/w at her winning the event at 12/1.
2pts Halep to win Quarter 4 at 7/2
1pt e/w Halep to win the US Open at 12/1
Just the one other outright bet in the Ladies – Elena Svitolina in the 2nd quarter. She’s an 11/4 shot to get the better of Madison Keys, Angelique Kerber and Jelena Ostapenko, and that makes complete sense. The latter hasn’t won a match since the fourth round at Wimbledon, Kerber has just one win under her belt in the hard court swing.
Keys is the big danger, but at 11/4 there is enough of a price to warrant backing the in form Svitolina who won the Rogers Cup in such great style. An early exit last time out could turn out to be a blessing in disguise.
1pt Svitolina to win Quarter 2 at 11/4
