AT&T Pebble Beach
The PGA Tour stays on the West Coast swing this week as it takes in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am. It’s always a favourite with the top players and we have the vast majority of the biggest names in golf in attendance, including Dustin Johnson, Jon Rahm and Jordan Spieth.

It’s not a massively lengthy course, and hitting the ball well and accurately off the tee has never been a particularly useful asset here. Instead, the finese to reach the greens efficiently, and putt out without too much fuss will surely see you home well up the leaderboard. We look for three key stats here therefore - GIR, Putting Average and Par 4 Performance.
Diving back to last season for a decent sample, Spieth immediately leaps off the page. He ranked 1st for Par Four Perfomance, 4th for GIR and 20th for Putting over the course of 2017, and there are few who can live with that sort of performance. He also returns here as defending champion, and its the sort of course which rewards the best players in the world. His last five visits have seen him finish 22,4,7,21 and 1st, so he clearly likes it here.
Of course, a 73rd last time out wasn’t exactly what he had hoped for, but he’s proven himself quite enough over the years to trust him to put right that result and come good here. Paddy Power offer 12/1 and pay on 7 places (1/5 odds) and that looks the way to go at the front of the market.
1pt e/w Jordan Spieth at 12/1 (7 places 1/5 odds) at Paddy Power
Chez Reavie is another who ticks the right boxes, although he’s missed the cut here twice in the last three visits. We’re willing to ignore that for the handsome 50/1 you can get after his excellent 2nd place at the weekend, and given that he ranked 6th for Par Fours over the course of 2017. He’s got decent stats for Putting and GIR, so just needs to pull it together here to give us a run for our money at a handy price.
1pt e/w Chez Reavie at 50/1 (7 places 1/5 odds)
We’ll keep it short and sweet and leave it there, and given the lack of depth down at Perth, we’re also going to swerve that tournament this week.
Good luck!
