La Liga Wednesday
There’s a full La Liga card this week, and a couple of matches have caught our eye, starting down in the south, where Seville travel to Malaga for an Andalusian derby match between two big rivals. It could well be the last meeting for a while with Malaga requiring a miracle to avoid the drop now.

Jose Gonzalez was hired in January to save the season, but his impact thus far has been unnoticeable and he’s not won in six since taking over, with the side scoring just three and conceding eight.
With a 2-4-7 record at home, Malaga are surely there for the taking given they are in the midst of a run which has seen them collect just two points from a potential 30 in La Liga since the middle of December. Especially when you consider that after the Big 3, Seville are up there in 6th place in the division and have won 15 points away from home already this season.

We also interested in the 7/5 on offer about Eibar when they take on Villarreal, in a match where we would make the hosts closer to 11/10. Recent form at the Estadio Municipal de Ipurua has been good, with five wins from eight league matches, and they retain every chance of nicking a place in Europe on current trajectory. Of course, we shouldn’t ignore that Eibar have lost their last two matches – 2-0 at Celta and 2-0 at home to Barcelona, but who doesn’t lose to Barcelona?
If more interest would be the 5-1 thrashing of Seville and the away wins at Leganes and Las Palmas. In fact, they have won five of their last ten, and drawn a couple more. Fabian Orellana is back from suspension for this one, further strengthening the side.
Villarreal may lack their usual confident swagger here after losing four of their last six. Two game in the Europa, with Lyon beating them home and away, but in La Liga they also lost to Real Betis and Alaves, and look vulnerable right now.
