Wimbledon Day 5

Sifting through the Mens Day Five matches has been an interesting exercise. All sorts of bets that have hooked me in, made me look a bit closer, and almost all of which have then left me not quite certain if the value is what my gut told me. Enough reasons to doubt. Enough reasons to not have a bet.

On the face of it Kohlschreiber looks a spot of value against Anderson, but its probably marginal at 9/4, while Mannarino has dominated Daniil Medvedev in two previous, and has superior stats on the surface, so feels a no brainer, but the improvement coming all the time in the Russian is enough to tell me that sooner rather than later, we might see a reversal of previous meetings between the two.

Pella v McDonald is another cracking problem to solve - neither should have had any hopes of playing in the third round, but here they are, both off the back of long five set matches, but Pella on cloud nine after the biggest shock of the tournament so far in beat Cilic.

So finally, I've ended up with just one bet.

We mentioned previously that Raonic has a very strong 3-0 record when going off at short prices - he's won 13 of the 16 matches he's won by that scoreline when going off at 1/5 or shorter, and he's a hot favourite to beat Dennis Novak.

The Austrian, ranked outside the top 150 is much more at home on clay, and has a pretty poor record against top players - since 2015 he is 1-5 against Top 25 players and only 4-8 against Top 50. His run into the main draw saw him beat three players ranked outsider the worlds Top 150, before edging past Lucky Loser Peter Polansky. A repeat of his second round match with Lucas Pouille seems unlikely, and he could well have spent most of his emotional energy already in winning that.

Back the 5/6 on Raonic winning 3-0 with Spreadex is the advice,

3pts Raonic to beat Novak 3-0 at 5/6
