Championship - Best Bets

It's been far from a vintage season for either Millwall or Swansea, with neither side really matching their pre-season expectations. The Lions are down in 20th, with Swansea are also in the bottom half, although they do at least still remain within striking distance of the play-offs if the final 3rd of the season can go their way.

Injuries threaten their chances this weekend however, so it could be worth taking a chance on Millwall despite their poor record on the road this season.

Swansea top score Oli McBurnie is a doubt following illness this week, while captain Leroy Fer is out, as well as defenders Joe Rodon and Martin Olsson.

Furthermore, The Liberty Stadium has hardly been a fortress this season - the Swans winning just six of 15 home games this season.

Both sides have been in decent nick lately, with Millwall collecting five wins from their last eight (including that shock against Everton), while Swansea have won four from their last eight - drawing a further three.

Millwall have a chance here, and we're backing them on the +1 handicap. Thay pays out if they win or draw the match.

Two sides scrapping for their lives alongside Millwall are Rotherham and Wigan, and the pair meet in a crunch match today at the New York Stadium. With Wigan on 32 points, and Rotherham on 26 just above the relegation zone, you can't help but feel this is a massive game. If Rotherham lose, Wigan really will be looking out of sight, but a home win and suddenly we have another side getting dragged into the choppy waters - especially so when we consider the run Wigan are in right now.

Starting with the Millers though, Rotherham are admittedly in a poor run at the moment. They have won just twice in 24 games. They have however drawn a further 11 so they have;t been getting overwhemled. Then we have the important factor of playing at home - Rotherham have collected 21 of their 26 points on home soil this season - 81%!

Then we come to Wigan. On the road they have collected just 3 points all season - just 9% of their overall haul, scoring 12 and conceding 29. Their form is equally woeful - losing 12 of their last 18 matches and collecting just two points from their last 13 away league matches.

In short, as bad as Rotherham might be, they shouldn't be longer than triple-your-money in this one and go on the weekend staking plan.
