England Women v Japan Women
Just four places split England and Japan in the World Rankings, and things could be tight when the pair meet to decide the fate of Group D honours. With two wins from two, England have got the job done in their opening matches against Scotland and Argentina, but they have been something short of their best.

Japan have already qualified for the next round as well of course, with four points on the board and the group looks like playing out very much in line with pre-tournament expectations. Japan definitely look good enough to cause England troubles, but they may also be canny enough to ensure they don’t win the match and end up jumping England into top spot and the tougher side of the draw. France and Australia are already in there, and it looks highly likely that USA will join them. You’d prefer to Netherlands or Canada surely?
Ultimately a draw could be the perfect result for Japan, while England would be happy enough presumably, so the odds of 21/10 in what may well be a low scoring match in any case seem more than acceptable here.
