Brentford v Birmingham

We wrote in our outright preview that Brentford look like they are pitching themselves up for a tilt at promotion this season, with the shrewd capture of Pontus Jansson an eye-catching summer signing.

The Bees have typically brought through lesser known players and added to their value, so paying a significant fee for Jansson stood out as a statement of intent. Mathias Jensen was another shrewd signing, and they will surely be up around the play-off picture once again.

In the same preview, we talked about Birmingham being a potential candidate for the drop, and despite bringing a few faces in over the past week or so, we still reckon they have it all to do, and are most definitely a club in decline. The loss of Jota and Che Adams are notable holes to fill and they will be operating on a tighter budget this season.

Brentford are 4/5 favourites in this one, and that looks decent value in my eyes.
