Thompson v Sousa
Portugal and Australia face off in this one, and the honours are even between the men over their previous meetings – 1 match each, and four sets each. Additionally, only 12 places split the men in the world rankings. It could therefore come down to who can adjust best to the courts tomorrow.

Joao Sousa is a respectable 111-110 on hard courts, but his best form has certainly come on the slower courts (257-194 on clay). He comes here having lost his last three matches – all on hard courts.
Jordan Thompson has also been struggling, losing his last three (also on hard) but one of those was against the impressive Stefanos Tsitsipas, and he did at least reach the 3rd round in Washington so is perhaps the better warmed up for the conditions in this one. Career stats also show him as the more accomplished man for this one with a 192-114 hard court record.
All in all, if the bookies can’t split we’ll have a go at doing it for them, and take Thompson at 5/6 with Bet Victor.
