Rangers ready to rule
The rise from the ashes has been nothing short of sensational from Rangers in recent years. Following a triple demotion in 2012, the Ibrox club proceeded to win the 3rd Division immediately, before taking down League One at the first attempt as well with 102pts in 13/14. They even reached the semi-finals of the Scottish Cup that season.
After missing out on a return to the Premiership in 14/15, they finally got the job done in 15/16, as well as being runners-up in the Scottish Cup. Since then, their points totals in the division have gone 67, 70, 78, and their season goal-difference has progressed +12, +26, +55.
It's worth reflecting on their Elo rise actually - as it demonstrates just what a boost Steven Gerrard has delivered since his appointment.

Really something from the ex-Liverpool man, who continues to improve the side month to month.
Eight games into the season, Rangers find themselves two points clear of Celtic and already on a very healthy +21 goal difference - and that included a defeat against Celtic!
Their last three SPL matches have seen them win 5-0 (Hamilton), 5-0 (Aberdeen) and 4-0 (St Johnstone). The signing of Jermain Defoe was a superb bit of business - he's scored 12 goals already this campaign, despite starting just seven games (with a further 7 sub appearances).
The addition of Steve Davis from Southampton and Sheyj Ojo from Liverpool have also looked excellent this season. They genuinely look to be creeping past Celtic now, and I'm not convinced there will be a better chance to back Rangers than there is right now at 6/4. There is the additional element that they look more likely to leave the Europa League at the end of the Group Stage than Celtic, which would definitely be a bonus.
